From Franklin's Ledger to the Modern Daily Plan

Time blocking is not new: Benjamin Franklin famously scheduled his day into hour-by-hour blocks in his autobiography, and the practice resurfaced in modern productivity writing through people like Cal Newport, who plans his entire workday in blocks on paper each morning rather than working off a loose to-do list. The idea is simple: a task without an assigned time slot competes with everything else for your attention all day; a task with a slot only has to happen once, at that time.

Turning Blocks Into a Task List

Time blocking answers when you will work on something, but not always what exactly to do inside that block. Describe the block's goal to the AI planner, "two hours for the Q3 report", and it returns a concrete sequence of sessions sized to fit inside it, which you can edit before starting.

Matching Session Length to Block Length

A 90-minute block does not have to mean a single 90-minute timer. In Settings, set a focus duration that divides cleanly into your blocks, three 25-minute pomodoros with short breaks inside a 90-minute slot, for example, so the block still has internal checkpoints instead of becoming one long unbroken push.
